From synthesis to your bench

Four checkpoints stand between a raw batch and a vial we are willing to sell you. Nothing ships until all four are on paper.

  1. 01

    Batch synthesised

A single production run under uniform conditions, tracked as a single batch in our records for the rest of its life.

  2. 02

    Sent out for analysis

A sample goes to an accredited third-party laboratory — identity confirmed by mass spectrometry, purity measured by HPLC. We do not grade our own work.

  3. 03

    Certificate issued to the batch

Results are written against that exact batch, not the product line. If a batch misses spec, it is not released — there is no second-tier stock.

  4. 04

    Certificate published with the compound

The certificate for that batch is published on the product page — identity, purity and analysis date, readable before you order and still there years later.

This is what arrives with your order

Most suppliers print a purity number on a banner. We would rather show you the document it comes from. Below is the shape of a real release record — every field is tied to one batch, and yours is on file before the vial ever ships.

  • Identity confirmed by mass spectrometry against the calculated mass
  • Purity measured by HPLC, reported with the method conditions
  • Appearance recorded at release inspection
  • Batch reference recorded against your order

01Are your compounds third-party tested?
Yes. Compounds are analysed by independent laboratories (Janoshik Analytical and Medutest), and the report is published on each product page and in the COA library. See our quality standards.
02Where do I find the certificate for my order?
Every product page shows its Certificate of Analysis under the description, and all reports are in the COA library. Certificates aren’t printed in the box and our labels don’t carry a lot number, so if you need the certificate for a specific order, send your order number through the COA request form.
03What does the purity figure mean?
HPLC purity is a relative area percentage: the main peak measured against every other peak the detector sees. It isn’t the same as peptide content by weight, because lyophilized material also carries water and counter-ions that don’t appear in that calculation. Where a report measures content, it’s shown as milligrams found against the labelled amount. More on purity testing.
04Which analytical methods are used?
HPLC measures purity, and mass spectrometry confirms identity by comparing the measured molecular weight with the value expected from the sequence. The two answer different questions, which is why a credible report includes both. Our guide explains how to read a certificate.
05What is Recon Water?
Water with 0.9% benzyl alcohol added as a preservative, for reconstituting lyophilized research compounds. It’s listed under research supplies, so you can add it to the same order.
06How should compounds be stored?
Keep sealed lyophilized powder cold and dark: 2–8°C for shorter periods, or −20°C for long-term storage. Let a cold vial reach room temperature before opening it, or condensation forms on the powder. Once reconstituted, keep it refrigerated and avoid repeated freeze-thaw cycles. Each product page lists its own conditions, and our storage guide covers the details.
07Where do you ship, and what does it cost?
We ship within the United States only, to all 50 states. Standard is $4.99, Two Day is $14.99 and Overnight is $39.99, and standard shipping is free on orders over $100. Full details are on the shipping page.
08What if my package is lost or arrives damaged?
Shipment protection is included on every order at no extra cost. Photograph the vial, packaging and label, then email [email protected] with your order number within 14 days of delivery. A parcel whose tracking shows no movement for 10 business days counts as lost. Approved claims get a replacement with fresh tracking. How claims work.
09Who can buy from StarBio?
Qualified researchers and institutions aged 21 or older, buying for in vitro laboratory work. Everything we sell is for research use only: not for human or veterinary use, and not for diagnostic or therapeutic purposes. The full conditions are in our Terms of Service.
10What is your return policy?
We don’t accept returns of products, because of possible degradation and the nature of our industry. We accept limited returns only if we accidentally ship the wrong items or additional items, and in those cases we’ll do our best to put it right. Contact [email protected]. Full policy.
11How do I reach a person?
Use the contact form or email [email protected]. Every message gets a ticket number by email, and replies normally land within one business day. Having your order number ready speeds things up.

New batches, new documentation

We send a short note when fresh batches clear testing, when a compound returns to stock, and when new reference material lands in the guides. Nothing else. Leave whenever you like.
